Each winter the Rajasthan Desert Safari sets up a camp at the Sam San Dunes on the edge of the Desert National Park. Located in the midst of the Thar Desert, this camp recreates the magical atmosphere of a traditional mediaeval desert camp on a trade route.Although lying in the midst of the desert, the camp provides for all the comforts required by a modern day traveller. The accommodation consists of Swiss Cottage type tents with attached baths with running hot and cold water.After spending the day on a camel safari in the Thar Desert, our guests can relax and spend the evening around the campfire, enjoying the live music and dance performances by the *Langha* tribe of professional singers.Apart from the camp, Rajasthan Desert Safaris also organises customised camel or jeep safaris itineraries in the Thar Desert on request.The Rajasthan Desert Safari is situated 38 km from Jaisalmer city, close to Sam Village in the area called Sam Sand Dunes. |
